life is amazing @ 11:49 PMdid my first night shift for obs yesterday. stayed from 9pm till 5am. but really, time passed so fast when you are busy. seeing how wonderful the moment is when the baby is born =) mothers do go through a lot.but the birth is sooo amazing. holding a tiny little life in your hands is awesome. went back in today to visit all the new mothers and the newborns. they are so small.n hardly weigh anything. soo cute. like jen said, i couldnt keep my hands off them. absolutely true =) hope those babies will grow up healthy and be happy! =D absolutely love this =) Labels: med

neuro! @ 10:40 PMstarting with neuro now.so far so good. =) managed to talk to a pt today, n shall be back to examine her tomorrow! go go go! feels different to be back in the hospital.it's good i suppose! n FINALLY finish moving house for the bro! yeahhhh~ no more cleaning of the house and driving thru and fro to ferry boxes/rubbish! new house, here i come! i might be moving house next year too.sad =( so cant be bothered to move.but both flatties moving out.n no way im gona stay with a crazy one. talking about the crazy one.she is seriously crazy.she might even be psychotic in fact.she's scary. ohhh well.hopefully i can move in with pple i like! =D

psychiatric @ 6:01 PMfirst official day @ hillmorton hospital for my psychiatric run. very interesting place. 1.you need a key to get through every single door (even the toilets). 2.dont open the door if you see anyone suspicious lingering around the door.patients might run out of the door when you open it. 3.if they do run out, dont try to catch them in case you get hurt. 4.always sit near the door when you are alone with the patient.dont let the patient be between you and the door. 5.there is always a red panic button in every room.if you press it, muscular men come rushing into the room within 60seconds. isnt psychiatric hospital interesting? haha. =D n i have a lovely team.consultant, registra and house officer who are willing to teach and include you =) and patients have sad story.the highs and lows they go through.all the hallucination and delusions they have.cant tell apart reality apart. i really dont wanna turn psychotic in the future please. *pray hard*

@ 4:59 PMopen heart surgery.watch the heart beats, stops and flutters.that was super interesting.got to see them use the defibrillator for his VF as well.no dramatic "CLEAR & zap the patient", but it was still good. got to try out my first LMA today, which i succeed =) n got to try my first intubation today, which i failed. =x but im glad for the experiences.anaesthetics could be fun! oh fyi, all of the patients mentioned above are alive, i did not kill any of them.LOL

overeaters anonymous @ 1:19 PMi was deciding between overeaters anonymous and gamblers anonymous self help group, for study purposes of cause.and then i realised, damn i do fit the criteria for overeating =( 1. Do you eat when you’re not hungry? 2. Do you go on eating binges for no apparent reason? 3. Do you have feelings of guilt and remorse after overeating? 4. Do you give too much time and thought to food? 5. Do you look forward with pleasure and anticipation to the time when you can eat alone? apparantly if you answered 3 or more yes (there were 10+ questions), you should be on your way to OA.guess what, i said yes to all these 5 questions -_-" i probably need to go overeaters anonymous more than gamblers.to curb my problem.haha kill me! see.addiction can be pretty fun.u learn more about yourself =)

back to uni @ 11:03 PMback to see all the familiar faces in nz! everyone seems to had a great holiday.kinda missed everyone.haha med sch welcomed us back with a "that is your last long holiday, hoped you enjoyed it.oh btw, your final year exam is this year.blah blah blah..." damn.already? so fast.. but im glad in certain way that i started with public health.a slack start to 5th year i always good i suppose =) n i love my groupies.nice people! i cant wait for 5th year exam to be over, then im off to electives!

back to coulter @ 11:15 AMim so sad.i was forced back to coulter's team.not that i dont like coulter.but there is only 1 consultant there, and i do prefer the 3 gentlemen back at vascular team.n poor steph...i feel so bad for throwing her there alone with 2 evils. =x bahhh.no one to fight for her now.pish. but talking back.coulter does remember my name.duno whether that's a good thing.haha.stayed till 11pm for acutes yesterday.haven had acutes in a long long while.haha.but it was good practise i think =) anw have to prepare for OSCE soon! n path OSCE as well.study study study! N OH! did i mention my shopping spree with jen that day? was so fun! i bought 2 pairs of stocking, 1 boot, 1 cardigan, 2 bedroom slippers! hahaha.long time since i bought so many things at one go! was fun! =) gona go shop for dress during the hols! n lets see....oh charm is leaving.or rather, charm has left! =x man.gona wait 0.5year more before i see her again.hope she gets well soon! =) will be missing her! n one song down for cultural show! one more britney song to go! im joining the msian for a cultural dance as well.we shall see how it goes =x haha.

loving vascular! @ 8:31 PMim absolutely loving vascular team! the consultants n regs are super duper nice! =D they are friendly n they teach! n luckily i have steph in the grp! hahaha.now i dont even feel like going back to my original team.cant bare to leave the gp..ohhh =x hahaha anw i went to watch transformers 2 on sun! LOVE IT! =D so nice.i wanna watch more transformers pls =p n im going to watch harry potter tomorrow when it opens! not that im such a great harry potter fan.it's sonja =x hahaha.but it's ok! i love bonding with my grp pple.haha! =D n i finish all my ED shifts today le! yeahhhh! time to slowly slack off~ woohooo~

fun! @ 12:08 AMi had lotsa fun today except for the fact that ED was boring...totally had nothing to do.but at least i got to put an IV line in.better than nth i guess.but still a total waste of time. then the girls came over for dance practice! went well! =D very happy ay! yeahhh!!! =p im sure we will be fine.haha. =x then..went out for dinner with grp for post birthday celebration for lilian! sat there n chat, which was good! then popped over to fren's place for house warming! was soooo cool! =D they had UV light.so we wore white, and got those UV paint as well.fun fun.but man i can feel it on my face until now.arghhh.hahaha =x n im transferring to a new team for 2wks.cus consultants are away.thank god i have steph in that team.haha =) n meeting the dunedin girls for yumcha tomorrow brunch! looking forward! =D

long weekend! @ 11:58 AMyeah long weekend is here! =D all thanks to queen's birthday.why dont we have a king? then maybe we can have a king's birthday as well.all any other royalties' birthday.i dont min dhaving more holidays.LOL! n this week has been fun! i got to stayed with my acute surgeon for acutes! =D saw lots, learnt lots! i stayed till 12am that night! watching acute surgeries & doing mini ward round.haha! n paul made me feel needed in the surgery even tho i didnt do anything there.hahaha! so nice of him =) i have such a great team~~~~! but man.too bad even tho i stayed till 12am in the hospital, i dont get paid =x bahhh.haha n i started playing resident evil with my bro! it's not the scary version, so that's fine.i didnt scream at all.haha! n yes later going over to bro's place! gona study there i guess.need to do my work! i still have 2 long case history to do.man man man.so slack =x ok thats all! my highlight of the week was the acute.i need more acutes! all thanks to steph that i manage to join! woohoo next time more pls! =D Labels: med
