i was telling him i have this patient that had acute confusion!

then the bf said he is very confusion as well.bah bah bah.then suddenly he said 'but i also very cute. so i have a-cute-confusion'

hahahaha i crack out laughing non stop! hahahhahaa.my bf is indeed very cute =p love him to bits.never fails to bring laughter and joy into my life =)

med student life =) @ 12:02 AM

just came back from the marae today! had so fun much there.they fed us really really well.there were 6meals a day.bfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner & supper. -_-" no wonder everyone gains weight there.hahaha n it's really really nice n wonderful food! esp the lunch today! GREAT! =D

not only were the food great, the whole session was full of excitment and purpose.taught us about Maori culture, how people perceived them and how we are all mistaken about them.i learned alot! =D should know how to interact with Maori patient much more better now, which is a good thing! n those lectures given really did challenge my thinking.changed my view towards the Maori =) im so glad MIHI made the effort to let us stay at the marae and experience their world.made a huge differences to us, and i believe it will make a huge differences to their health care system as well! we are the future doctors! hahaha. =)

n we all learnt to say maori language! long long word. whakawhanaungatanga! =D pronounced as fa-ka-fa-no-nga-tan-ga.totally sounds like a vulgarity i know.but it means establishing connection.hahaha another word that sounds more like a vulgarity is whakapono aka fa-ka-po-no.hahaha yeah =x it's a interesting language i have to say!

and today we had the practise OSCE exam! haha.FINALLY! i got to wear my formal wear, and hang that pink stethoscope of mine around my neck.walked around feeling totally like a med student/doctor! feels great! =D even tho throughout the OSCE i felt kinda dum not knowing my stuffs, but i believe i will get a grip of it soon! =D

still wanna say.love having my pink stethoscope around my neck.muahahahaha!

n tml is happy vdae! or rather, it's happy valentines' day in my time already! so to my precious (aka pepe in Maori language).happy vdae and i love u lots lots! muacks! the rest tell u on the fone ba! hehehe.

day with a doctor! @ 6:35 PM

spent a day with Dr. Smith! he's a haematologist consultant and i think he's quite a good one (from all the talking and the certs he has gotten).n he's a really sweet guy.so nice to students, patients and everyone else.haha

lets see.i didnt get to do anything today, but i saw alot.it was a very non-hands-on day.but i enjoyed it!

got to see how randomised controlled trials are done.went into the haematology lab to see how the blood samples are processed! even showed me blood firms on the microscope! n i learn new stuffs! =D haha.auer rods are found in acute myeloid leukamia! showed me the machine for immunoflorescent as well! interesting!

got to break a bad new to a patient.she took is relatively well, but the son didnt i guess.after we walked out of the room, he came out n asked us how long his mum is gona live for.looked quite distressed and worried.haiz =x

n went to see another cancer patient.she almost cried in the room =( made mi wanna cry.haiz but after we sent her back to her seat, i could see her sobbing there.i wish she would get well soon.it's hard to tolerate the treatment.n she seems to have difficulty with the current ones already. =(

then saw another patient with bone marrow failure.she didnt want to stay in community hospital cause she has some misunderstanding about it.so the whole family was there, but they couldnt come to a conclusion themselves either.n she opted for no resuscitation if anything were to happen.i hope not.

so overall i saw lots! even tho i did nothing.but it's very eventful!

enjoyed it totally! n going to the marae tml! it's gona be fun i hope! =)

a shift with the nurse @ 8:45 PM

i managed to follow nurses from the gastroenterology day unit today! =D i saw lots of gastroscopy and colonoscopy (aka alot of stomach, butt, rectum and colon) haha.had so much fun! the nurses are so sweet n lovely.ohhh~ would definitely appreciate them in the future.hard work ay.have to stand all day, and do the same procedures over n over again.

my legs were so damn sore from standing today.even tho the nurses are nice to offer me a seat, i didnt dare to sit cus no one else was sitting! hahaha. =x

tml is a day with a doctor! looking forward as well!

gona read up some notes before i look like a idiot infront of the consultant tml! =x

i just wanna blog before i go to bed!

im now back in christchurch, new zealand!

started the day off with heaps of lectures.n ended with a session with the consultant and patient.it's still the introductory week so yeah! means no pressure.but they told us what to be careful of.head nurse of the wards and bz consultant/registra/house surgeon during a hectic day.haha

i will think not to take things to personally when i get scoldings.unless i totally deserve it.

rem that it's normal for medical students to be treated like extras during rounds.LOL even the nurses get to bully u.cause we are at the bottom of the hierarchy. =x

anw it was nice seeing all the friends again! haha.after these bz bz days, there is gona be alot of house visiting to do! hahaha. =D

hope my year starts off good! going to slp now.hearya later dar!
