been with the head and neck team for abit now since my supervisor is gone! love both the surgeons from head and neck. uber nice =) seeing alot of very interesting stuffs as well. half the face almost gone. poor thing.

cant believe elective is coming to an end already. i wonder how elective in singapore is going to be like. surely there are no half days and slacking off. =( poor thing. haha

everything has been great so far. i got to see lots of interesting stuffs over here in glasgow. even tho plastic surgery really isnt my kind of thing that i will want to do it for long term, i wouldnt mind learning more about it some time! guess it's good that i have seen quite a few things, helps if i wanna become a gp to refer people as well! =)

n the timetable is great. i get to decide what i wanna see, what i wanna do. like today, totally skipped the clinic just because i was too tired. lol but i guess thats why it's called an elective!

going off to inverness and lochness tomorrow! well it would be by myself, but thats fine! im sure i'll still have lots of fun! =D n have lots of photos! yeahhhh! cant wait. better be there early in case i miss my bus *touch wood*

did my first night shift for obs yesterday. stayed from 9pm till 5am. but really, time passed so fast when you are busy.

seeing how wonderful the moment is when the baby is born =) mothers do go through a lot.but the birth is sooo amazing.

holding a tiny little life in your hands is awesome.

went back in today to visit all the new mothers and the newborns. they are so small.n hardly weigh anything. soo cute. like jen said, i couldnt keep my hands off them. absolutely true =)

hope those babies will grow up healthy and be happy! =D

poor friend of mine. i wonder how he's taking it. i would definitely go crazy. 7 years of relationship, poof!! especially when he has plan to propose with his first working pay. =( n it's only 1.5months from the big final exam.

what a time to bring something up, lousy girlfriend.

hopefully things go well for him..i suppose distance can be a really big problem for some. or maybe it's just because of the people they meet when girls are working. =x

my heart sinks everywhere it shakes. i getting paranoid over vibrations.

i thought it was all over already.until the stupid biggish aftershocks since yesterday again. woke me up from my sleep. =(

n oh, i had fun talking to the bf today. felt like we havent talked in ages. before that i was camping in bro's home. then after that was busy studying my exam. finally got the chance =) sorry for the stupid things i said. =p

22nd birthday

had a small birthday celebration with bro and dasao on the special day itself. it was great! went for my yearly mcdonald hotcake breakfast.

then took off to sunday market for a walk!

the rain stopped. the rainbow was out.n sun was shinning bright just for me =)

n then had a steamboat with family + a few of my brother's friend. great food, great times!

n then the cake! handmade by my dasao. strawberry mousse cake! looks so pretty cause it's pink! hahaha.n taste great too!

im so lucky to have my bro and dasao here.

thanks to them, i was at peace while the earth was shaking. it was definitely a eventful week. great experience, but please let it be the last too! =p

now i finally bother to blog about the earthquake.

definitely wasnt fun.hasnt been great either.

7.1magnitude earthquake strike christchurch on saturday 4.30am, while i was in my own little bed sleeping.holy crap, i was literally shaken up by the earthquake.things were dropping, bookcase falling & wardrobes' door wouldnt stop shaking.if you imagine, it's like in a baby basinet, except a lot faster, more vigorous and scary i suppose.n i swear the house was going up down left right.

so many things rushed through that tiny mind. OH NO, should hide under the door frame where it's the strongest. but i was frozen in bed.couldnt move at all. thank goodness the roof didnt come collapsing down, if not i would be squashed in bed -_-"

we only managed to get out of the house after the shaking stopped.so lame but oh well.good try for my first major earthquake experience i guess =) stayed in the car with friends for another 2 hours before we crawled back home, into our bed.friends' company is definitely the thing that calms you down at that time.i would have so freaked out if i were alone.and luckily, nothing happened to bro & dasao as well =)

nights so far havent been great either.small & big aftershock still hitting christchurch.disturbing my sleep and my poor tiny soul.i get so jittery from every single vibration and sound.i jumped at the sound of door closing. gona get post-traumatic stress disorder. =x

n im home alone today.pls dont let there be any major shake today *pray hard*

im actually really really lucky. i still have a roof over me, with power and water. n i have a bro here, who takes care of me! let me sleep in his room at the foot of his bed! (yes, 电灯泡) i think christchurch has done really well for the extent of the earthquake.it's 7.1mag, and we only have 1 indirect death.christchurch has braced itself well. yeahhh! =D

but seriously, i never want to experience another earthquake.once is more than enough.

n please let the aftershock be over soon...

so much things have happened for the past 1 month or so.cut short, 1. neuro osce sucked 2. i totally enjoyed myself @ auckland =) 3. starting musculoskeletal run and i think i am enjoying it

msk is definitely not as busy as what everyone made it sound.i have been having super late start for the past 5days.haha n i have a super duper nice reg =) cute n awesome @ teaching.so yes, will be going back to the hospital to attend acutes on SUNDAY! not that i mind la.hahahaha =x

2 days ago, i got into my first car accident.thank goodness it's minor.minor scratch to my car's bumper.

having said that, it totally freaked me out tho.i dont think i have ever been so scared in my life before.couldnt stop shaking and crying after that =x luckily my bro and dasao came to my "rescue" lol.

well.anw the accident wasnt my fault.some guy beat the light.i was turning right while he was going straight in the opposite direction.then he accelerated while i was turning -_-" thank god i stepped on my accelerator instead of my brake when i panicked.so he scraped pass my bumper only.and he didnt even stop.

idiot.must be some drunk guy.

one day, i might see him/her in ED.blehhhsss.he can crash all he wants.dont bring others down with him.

ok i shall stop cursing him.lol.

fright is over.im fine now =) slept well that night too.so all good to drive again (hopefully)!

on a side note, it's our 6.5years anniversary today! so happy anniversary darling =)

back msia for cny for 1 week

singapore 2nd elective: 7 to 25 feb

then back to nz on 26feb. =) perfect planning.

then now accomodation.in glasgow, cost around 20 - 35 pound per night.dear lord.there goes my money =(

but ohh well.got to spend it! haha.im just glad it's all sorted already.got what i wanted =) thank god.

first official day @ hillmorton hospital for my psychiatric run.

very interesting place.

1.you need a key to get through every single door (even the toilets).

2.dont open the door if you see anyone suspicious lingering around the door.patients might run out of the door when you open it.

3.if they do run out, dont try to catch them in case you get hurt.

4.always sit near the door when you are alone with the patient.dont let the patient be between you and the door.

5.there is always a red panic button in every room.if you press it, muscular men come rushing into the room within 60seconds.

isnt psychiatric hospital interesting? haha. =D

n i have a lovely team.consultant, registra and house officer who are willing to teach and include you =)

and patients have sad story.the highs and lows they go through.all the hallucination and delusions they have.cant tell apart reality apart.

i really dont wanna turn psychotic in the future please. *pray hard*

open heart surgery.watch the heart beats, stops and flutters.that was super interesting.got to see them use the defibrillator for his VF as well.no dramatic "CLEAR & zap the patient", but it was still good.

got to try out my first LMA today, which i succeed =)

but im glad for the experiences.anaesthetics could be fun! oh fyi, all of the patients mentioned above are alive, i did not kill any of them.LOL

i was deciding between overeaters anonymous and gamblers anonymous self help group, for study purposes of cause.and then i realised, damn i do fit the criteria for overeating =(

1. Do you eat when you’re not hungry?

2. Do you go on eating binges for no apparent reason?

3. Do you have feelings of guilt and remorse after overeating?

4. Do you give too much time and thought to food?

5. Do you look forward with pleasure and anticipation to the time when you can eat alone?

apparantly if you answered 3 or more yes (there were 10+ questions), you should be on your way to OA.guess what, i said yes to all these 5 questions -_-"

that day i wanted to go dinner (bak ku teh) @ klang.n i fully understood the meaning of murphy's law.

took us almost 2 hours to get there.

1) we travelled during peak period when everyone is going home, so jam like hell.
2) it was raining.KL jam like mad when it's raining.
3) there was a small accident along the highway, so even more jam
4) when we finally get out of the highway n wanted to turn left, the exit was closed for no reason.so another jam to join.
5) finally managed to turn L), then notice traffic light spoil. so more jamming to go cus every car we trying to cross at the T junction.damn scary. -_-"
6) after crossing that T junction, the road after that was flooded, so jam again.

mann...how bad can it get? everything that can possibly go wrong, went wrong! woohoo~

but i finally managed to get my bak ku teh. =D

n this week has been fun! i got to stayed with my acute surgeon for acutes! =D saw lots, learnt lots! i stayed till 12am that night! watching acute surgeries & doing mini ward round.haha! n paul made me feel needed in the surgery even tho i didnt do anything there.hahaha! so nice of him =) i have such a great team~~~~!

but man.too bad even tho i stayed till 12am in the hospital, i dont get paid =x bahhh.haha

n i started playing resident evil with my bro! it's not the scary version, so that's fine.i didnt scream at all.haha! n yes later going over to bro's place! gona study there i guess.need to do my work! i still have 2 long case history to do.man man man.so slack =x
